Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
Overview
LanJAM is built on a simple privacy principle: your data stays with you. This policy covers both this marketing website (lanjam.ai) and the LanJAM application itself.
This Website (lanjam.ai)
What we collect
This marketing website stores a single cookie in your browser for your theme preference (light/dark mode) and one for cookie consent acknowledgement. Both are stored in localStorage and never transmitted to any server.
What we don't collect
- No analytics or tracking scripts
- No third-party cookies
- No personal information of any kind
- No server-side logging of visitor data
Hosting
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard web server logs (IP addresses, request headers) as part of their infrastructure. Please refer to Cloudflare's privacy policy for details on their data handling practices.
The LanJAM Application
Local-first architecture
The LanJAM application is designed to run entirely on your local network. When you install and use LanJAM:
- All conversations, user data, and files are stored on your local machine in a PostgreSQL database and MinIO object storage
- AI models run locally via Ollama — your prompts and responses never leave your network
- No data is transmitted to LanJAM's developers, cloud services, or any third party
- No telemetry, analytics, or usage tracking of any kind is included
- No internet connection is required after the initial setup and model download
User data isolation
Each family member's conversations and files are isolated at the database level. One user cannot access another user's data through the application.
Data ownership
You own all data stored by LanJAM. Since it runs on your hardware, you have full control over your data — including the ability to back it up, export it, or delete it entirely via the system reset feature.
Third-Party Services
LanJAM does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services. The only external communication occurs when:
- Downloading AI models from Ollama's model registry (initiated by the admin and performed by the Ollama service)
- Optionally connecting to a remote Ollama instance on your local network (configured explicitly by the admin)
Children's Privacy
LanJAM's role-based safety system provides additional protections for children and teenagers. Content safety rules are always active for younger users and cannot be bypassed. However, since LanJAM runs locally and does not collect any data, there is no risk of children's personal information being transmitted externally.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
